EWF Media Accreditation Terms & Conditions

This Code of Conduct applies to all persons accredited through the EWF Media Accreditation Portal. By accepting and using an EWF media accreditation, accredited persons agree to comply with these standards and with all applicable EWF, Local Organising Committee, venue and security instructions. 1. Professional Conduct Accredited persons must conduct themselves professionally and respectfully at all times while attending or covering an EWF event. Accredited persons must: comply with instructions issued by EWF, the LOC, venue management, security personnel and authorised event officials; behave respectfully towards athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, media representatives, spectators and other event participants; avoid conduct that disrupts the event, interferes with competition or compromises safety and security. Harassment, discrimination, threatening or abusive behaviour, extremist displays, or other serious misconduct may result in restrictions or withdrawal of accreditation. 2. Conduct During Competition Media activity must not interfere with athletes, officials or the orderly conduct of competition. During an athlete's attempt, accredited media must maintain appropriate silence and avoid unnecessary movement or activity that may distract the athlete or interfere with competition. Interviews, commentary, live reports, live appearances and other potentially disruptive media activity must not take place during an athlete's attempt or at other moments where such activity is restricted by EWF, the LOC or event officials. Media representatives must follow instructions concerning photography positions, movement, interviews and media activity within competition areas. 3. Accreditation, Credentials and Access Zones Media accreditation provides access only to areas specifically permitted for the relevant accreditation category and approved permissions. Credentials are: personal; non-transferable; and valid only for the accredited individual and applicable event. Accreditation does not provide unrestricted access to the venue. Access to the Field of Play, warm-up areas, Training Hall, back-of-house areas, athlete areas, technical areas or other restricted zones is permitted only where specifically authorised. Accredited persons must display their credential where required and comply with all zone restrictions and access-control instructions. Credentials must not be lent, transferred, copied or used by another person. 4. Photography, Audio-Visual Recording and Media Rights Accreditation and specific media permissions are separate. Depending on the applicant's category and approvals, permissions may include: still photography; interview access; Member Federation Team Media audio-visual access; Training Hall access; additional Audio-Visual Rights; Broadcast or Livestream Rights; and Commercial Rights. Submitting a request for additional access or media rights does not constitute approval. Any activity requiring separate EWF approval may take place only after the corresponding permission has been expressly approved by EWF. Broadcasting and livestreaming are not permitted unless specific Broadcast or Livestream Rights have been approved. Commercial exploitation requiring separate Commercial Rights is not permitted unless specifically approved by EWF. Accredited persons must comply with the scope of the permission granted and with any additional event-specific instructions issued by EWF. 5. Interviews Accredited media may conduct interviews only in designated areas and at appropriate times. Interview access does not provide unrestricted access to athletes, teams, competition areas or restricted venue zones. Athletes, coaches and officials must not be obstructed, pressured or prevented from carrying out competition, training, recovery or official duties. Instructions concerning Mixed Zones and other designated interview areas must be followed at all times. 6. Photography and Recording Positions Photography and recording may take place only from authorised locations and in accordance with the permissions attached to the accreditation. Accredited persons must not: enter restricted areas to obtain photographs or recordings; obstruct athletes, officials, television production, spectators or other media; interfere with official cameras or event operations; disregard instructions concerning movement or media positioning. EWF, LOC, venue and security personnel may require media representatives to change position or leave an area where necessary for safety, competition operations or event management. 7. Training Hall and Restricted Areas Training Hall access is governed by the applicant's accreditation category and any additional approval granted by EWF. Access must comply with: official training schedules; designated access periods; venue capacity; team and athlete privacy; security requirements; and EWF/LOC instructions. Permission to enter a Training Hall or other restricted area does not automatically grant permission to conduct audio-visual recording there. Where separate Audio-Visual approval is required, that approval must also be in place. 8. Dress and Identification Accredited persons are expected to wear professional, event-appropriate clothing while carrying out media activities. Media credentials must be worn and displayed when required by EWF, the LOC, venue or security personnel. Inappropriate clothing, including but not limited to shorts, sleeveless tops, tank tops, flip-flops and beachwear, as well as equipment or displays that interfere with event operations or create a security concern, may be restricted. 9. Compliance and Accreditation Measures Failure to comply with this Code of Conduct, accreditation conditions, approved media permissions or instructions issued by authorised event personnel may result in appropriate action by EWF. Depending on the nature and seriousness of the matter, action may include: a warning; restriction of access to particular areas; restriction or withdrawal of specific media permissions; removal from a designated media area; suspension or cancellation of accreditation; removal from the event where necessary; and consideration of the conduct when assessing future accreditation applications. Where media content has been created or distributed in violation of applicable accreditation conditions or approved media rights, EWF may request that the content be removed or that the unauthorised activity cease. 10. No Guarantee of Accreditation or Media Rights Submitting an application does not guarantee accreditation. Similarly, submitting a request for additional access, Audio-Visual Rights, Broadcast or Livestream Rights, Commercial Rights or any other special permission does not guarantee approval. Accreditation and media-rights decisions may take into account factors including: event capacity; venue limitations; safety and security; operational requirements; and the nature of the requested media activity. Only permissions expressly granted by EWF may be exercised. 11. Responsibility of Accredited Persons Each accredited person is responsible for understanding: their accreditation category; the areas they are permitted to access; the media activities they are authorised to perform; and any restrictions or additional approvals associated with their accreditation. If there is uncertainty regarding an activity or permission, the accredited person should contact the EWF Media Team before undertaking the activity. 12.
